A label by 2 Boys 3 Cups
One bird. On fire.
COCKHEADS is a single piece of artwork taken seriously: a rooster drawn like album art, staring out of a storm with nothing to prove.
The design
Album art for a farm animal
Pick the least intimidating creature on the yard. Draw it the way a metal record cover draws a demon — flame, weather, contrast, absolute conviction. Do not wink at the audience once.
That is the whole idea behind COCKHEADS, and it is the reason the label has exactly one subject. The rooster does not need a series of variations or a seasonal palette. It needs to be printed large enough that the flames read from a distance.
-
A rooster, rendered as a threat
Comb and hackles drawn as open flame, eye fixed somewhere past you, storm clouds doing the rest. Nothing about the composition admits it is a farm animal.
-
Blackletter, arched, unapologetic
The wordmark curves over the top of the artwork the way a band logo does, in a face built for volume rather than for reading quickly.
-
No punchline anywhere
The joke is the gap between subject and treatment, and it is never pointed at. Wear it as a heavy graphic tee and nobody will correct you.
Part of something
A label of 2 Boys 3 Cups
COCKHEADS is not a standalone company. It is the first label out of 2 Boys 3 Cups, an independent apparel brand that runs each of its lines as its own small world — one subject, one set of artwork, one attitude.
This site covers the rooster. The parent site covers everything else, including whatever label comes next.
Shop
You cannot buy it yet
The artwork is finished. The shop is not. There is no storefront, no pre-order and no waiting list quietly doing nothing behind a form.
When that changes it gets announced here first, and this page will say something else. Until then, the honest version is the one above.
